Confidential AI Inference with End-to-End Data Privacy
Tinfoil is a San Francisco-based startup (founded in 2024) focused on ensuring that organizations can deploy AI models and workflows in the cloud without sacrificing data privacy or trusting third-party providers. Its platform enables AI inference and model deployment inside hardware-based confidential computing enclaves, such as NVIDIA Hopper/Blackwell GPUs in confidential compute mode. As a result, data, prompts, and models are processed in encrypted form and even the service provider cannot access them.
Tinfoil’s differentiator is its strong emphasis on verifiability. Users can run a clientside verifier, examine transparency logs, and validate enclave attestation to ensure that the exact opensource code is running in a secure enclave that they control.
While funding details are limited in the public domain, early startup service trackers list Tinfoil as having raised ~$1.4 million in initial funding.
