AI-native managed detection and response built for European data sovereignty requirements
Sovera Security is a Danish MDR provider that treats sovereignty as an architectural requirement rather than a contractual clause. Its founding team includes Soren Laustrup, who spent two decades helping build Logpoint into one of Europe's larger security vendors, alongside operators with prior security startups, patents spanning network security and machine learning, and research leadership experience. The company's stated position is that AI is now unavoidable in security operations but that buyers rarely get a straight answer on the questions that matter: who owns the models making decisions, where the data travels, and who retains control of the outcome.
The platform is designed as an open layer over whatever the customer already runs, integrating with existing SIEM, EDR, identity, cloud and network tooling rather than demanding replacement. Active correlation is used to find weak signals that high-volume alerting misses, and investigation is agentic, reasoning across available signals to shape a response to the specific threat instead of executing a fixed playbook. Response actions including blocking, isolation, credential revocation and reconfiguration are automated, with humans governing high-risk decisions, and continuous validation surfaces control drift and coverage gaps between audits. Deployment location, jurisdiction and model choice are customer decisions, and the company describes itself as AI-agnostic, selecting a model per task rather than depending on one provider. Sovera works with KMD on security for Danish municipal infrastructure.
