Local secure web gateway proxy that inspects browser and SaaS traffic for data loss and AI use
The architectural choice Repacket makes is local inspection. A conventional secure web gateway backhauls traffic to a vendor point of presence, which adds latency, creates a dependency, and puts an intermediary in the path of everything an employee does. Repacket's proxy runs on the machine instead, decrypting and inspecting on the device so enterprise controls apply to every browser and every SaaS session without the traffic detour. Running there also means the inspection point sees the full context of a session rather than a stream of isolated requests, which is what the data loss detection depends on.
On top of that proxy sit the controls a security team would otherwise buy separately: AI-driven data loss prevention that blocks sensitive uploads and prompt content in real time, shadow AI discovery and policy enforcement over which models employees may use, phishing and malicious link blocking, content filtering, and visibility into unsanctioned SaaS. Reporting covers AI and application usage across the organization. Repacket is a Y Combinator-backed company that previously operated as 0pass, with offices listed in Vancouver, British Columbia and San Francisco. Public funding records report roughly $4.1M raised across two rounds, most recently a seed round in 2023.
