AI secret scanning that reviews every pull request for leaked credentials before merge

Puaro is an Israeli company dating to 2023, working on a problem that regex-based scanners have never solved cleanly. Tools such as Gitleaks and TruffleHog match patterns, which means they flag test fixtures, sample keys, and documentation strings alongside real credentials, and teams learn to ignore the output. Puaro's approach is to read the code around a candidate string, following how the value is assigned and used, and to decide from that context whether it is a live secret. The company argues this matters more now that coding assistants generate large volumes of code that no human read line by line before it reached a branch.

The scanner installs as a GitHub Marketplace app or an equivalent integration on GitLab and Bitbucket, and runs on each pull or merge request rather than on a nightly sweep of the repository, so a developer sees the finding while the change is still open. Results arrive as inline PR comments, Slack notifications, or email, each with guidance on rotating the exposed credential. Puaro publishes benchmark comparisons against Gitleaks, TruffleHog, and GitGuardian and reports detection accuracy near 99.8 percent, a false positive rate of a few percent, and scan times measured in fractions of a second per thousand lines; those figures are the company's own. It runs an early access program with free scanning during the beta.
