Real-time risk decisioning platform for fraud, credit, onboarding, and AML in financial services

Oscilar was founded in 2021 by Neha Narkhede, co-creator of Apache Kafka and co-founder of Confluent, and Sachin Kulkarni, previously an engineering leader at Meta. The two self-funded the company with $20M and launched it from stealth in 2023 rather than raising outside capital. The design reflects their backgrounds in real-time streaming infrastructure: risk decisions on a payment, an application, or a new account have to be made inline, in milliseconds, and the teams who understand the risk are rarely the teams who can ship a code change to the decisioning path.

The platform consolidates fraud detection, credit underwriting, onboarding, and AML into one decisioning layer. Analysts build and modify policies in a no-code workflow builder driven by natural language, so a rule change does not require SQL or an engineering ticket. An agent hub provides specialized agents for transaction fraud scoring, sanctions and AML screening, credit decisions, case investigation, and drafting the narratives compliance filings require. Behavioral intelligence contributes device fingerprinting and a large library of behavioral markers to scoring, and institutions can bring their own models, with continuous retraining as attack patterns change. Monitoring and analytics track policy performance after deployment. Customers include SoFi, MoneyGram, Nuvei, and Clara. Oscilar reports substantial reductions in false positives and faster policy deployment for its users.
