Browser-native security that inspects work and AI use inside the page itself

The browser is where most knowledge work now happens, and it is also the layer with the least instrumentation: network tools see encrypted traffic to an approved domain, endpoint tools see a browser process behaving normally, and email gateways never touch a link clicked from a chat message. Keep Aware closes that gap by running inside the browser itself. Its extension observes the rendered page and the user's interaction with it, which is what allows detection of credential phishing pages that are assembled client-side, consent-phishing OAuth prompts, and social engineering flows that would look inert to a proxy. It also inventories installed extensions across the fleet and blocks the ones that request excessive permissions.

The data side of the product governs what leaves the organization through the browser: files uploaded to unsanctioned SaaS, credentials reused against personal accounts, and, increasingly, text pasted into third-party AI assistants. Keep Aware gives security teams a record of which AI tools employees are actually using and applies policy to what can be sent to them, which is how most organizations first get a measurement of shadow AI. Deployment is through MDM, group policy, or standard software distribution and typically takes minutes, with no separate endpoint agent to maintain. Keep Aware was founded in 2022 in Austin, Texas, and raised a $2.4M seed round led by LiveOak Venture Partners with Runtime Ventures participating.
