Simulation-Based Cyber Range for Security Workforce Training and Capability Validation

CYBER RANGES operates a simulation-based platform for cybersecurity workforce development and capability validation, aimed at government agencies, military and law enforcement units, critical infrastructure operators, enterprises and academic institutions. The company was established by Dr. Almerindo Graziano and a team drawn from Silensec, his earlier practice-based security training firm, and now runs from a Cyprus headquarters with additional offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Kenya and Estonia.

Exercises run inside cloud-hosted virtual environments that scale to thousands of concurrent machines, letting teams rehearse against replicas of their own infrastructure. A scenario composer builds those topologies, while an injector engine drives agent-based attacks and automated red-team activity mapped to MITRE ATT&CK techniques and specific CVEs. Scoring and reporting align to the NIST/NICE framework, and the platform is offered as a cloud subscription, a hosted or on-premise deployment, or a portable field-deployable unit.

Positioning rests on institutional endorsement rather than tooling breadth. A 2018 cooperation agreement made the platform the official environment for the ITU's global cyber drills, MITRE ATT&CK designated it a cyber range of choice in 2022, and a 2023 partnership with Ukraine's State Service for Special Communications supports national qualification programmes. Adjacent offerings include Threat-eX threat-emulation drills, TRYZUB cyberdrills built with CERT-UA, IT/OT convergence scenarios and the free CReX community edition. The company holds ISO 27001 certification issued by BSI.
