AI Security Gateways Blocking Web and Network Attacks in Real Time

CloudCoffer is a Taiwanese network security vendor founded in 2016 by chief executive Sandra Yeh, with a leadership team that includes chief technology officer Patrick Tague and president Ray Chiang. The company sells the MatrixShield series, a line of security gateway appliances aimed at three tiers of buyer: home and IoT users, small and medium businesses protecting web applications and networked devices, and enterprises and government agencies that need intranet inspection and threat analysis across larger estates.

MatrixShield sits inline as a gateway and applies what the company calls TIFF, an intelligent forbidden function that combines machine learning with large-scale threat data to block both known and unknown attacks. Its threat patterns are drawn from zero-day research, honeypots, and vulnerability databases. Capabilities include defense against SQL injection, cross-site scripting, denial of service, and brute force attempts; scanning and reconnaissance detection; information hiding that obscures system details; global IP reputation blocking; and adaptive rule tuning with system health alerts.

A feature the company highlights is real patching: MatrixShield blocks exploits aimed at unpatched systems at the gateway, so machines that cannot be updated on a vendor's schedule stay protected in the meantime. Deployment is positioned as plug and play with no complex configuration, and the architecture is designed to scale roughly a hundredfold within minutes as traffic grows. The line spans MatrixShield-B for smaller businesses, MatrixShield-C for enterprise infrastructure, and cloud and virtual machine editions. SandSphere adds static and dynamic malware analysis.
