Enterprise Software Control Plane Governing Every Package, Update and AI Artifact

Clairvoyant Intelligence is a Sunnyvale, California startup building what it calls the Enterprise Software Control Plane, a governance layer for the software perimeter of large organizations. Co-founders Douglas Schultz, previously a global business leader at Menlo Security and VP and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan at FireEye, and Gautam Altekar, a Menlo Security co-founder with a Berkeley computer science PhD, target enterprise and government buyers, including U.S. federal defense deployments.

The platform inserts inline hooks at the points where software transits the enterprise: endpoint management systems such as SCCM, Intune and Jamf, secure web gateways and CASBs, CI/CD pipelines, artifact registries, EDR, and app marketplaces. Intercepted packages, updates, extensions and build artifacts pass through multi-vector analysis covering embedded AI capabilities, adversarial behaviors, quantum-unsafe cryptography, provenance and ownership, and compatibility impact. Each verdict resolves to auto-approve, auto-block, or escalation with context, then is enforced on every install and update.

Positioning rests on consolidating decisions rather than generating more alerts, giving security and IT teams one enforcement point covering shadow software, third-party approvals, update gates, CI/CD release validation and marketplace governance. Risk lenses aimed at AI-era problems, including citizen-developer code, embedded AI inside updates, and approval workflows for agents, skills and MCP servers, separate the approach from conventional supply chain scanners, as does post-quantum cryptography discovery.
