Founded in 2006 by brothers Sean and Kevin Moshir on the premise that mobile devices would become central to identity validation and secure data exchange, the Arizona-based company sells primarily into financial services, government agencies and other highly regulated sectors that must satisfy SEC, CFTC, FINRA, SOX, FCA, MiFID II, FOIA, Sunshine Law, public records and HIPAA requirements.

The SL2 Enterprise platform is organized around four functions: connect, capture, supervise and archive. Each user is issued a Mobile Business Number, a dedicated business line that separates work texting from personal use on the same handset, with shared-line variants for teams. Communications are collected through app-level capture, carrier-level capture, or a stacked combination spanning SMS, MMS, RCS, voice, WhatsApp and Microsoft Teams, then routed into enterprise archives via journaling and separate voice and messaging endpoints.

Engineered on Microsoft Azure and supporting BYOD, COPE and COBO ownership models across iOS and Android, the product integrates with unified endpoint management suites including Microsoft Intune, BlackBerry UEM, Ivanti Neurons and AppConfig rather than replacing them. Supervision is layered on through SL2 Private AI and SL2 AI Capture for content analysis of retained messages. The company holds a portfolio of US and international patents covering mobile capture and SMS archiving, and belongs to the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association.
