Subscription Cyber Insurance for Small Businesses and Families in Brazil

BLUECYBER Seguros is a Brazilian insurtech operating as a managing general agent for cyber insurance, founded in 2021 and based in São Paulo. It targets a segment that traditional cyber underwriting has largely skipped: small and mid-sized companies and individual families across Latin America, reached through a digital-first sales process rather than broker-led placement. The company describes itself as a pioneer of cyber insurance in the Brazilian market, and its policies are issued by Seguros Sura.

Cover is sold as a monthly subscription. It pays out on incidents including data breaches, fines under Brazil's LGPD data protection law, legal costs, and digital identity theft, and bundles services alongside the financial cover: a help desk for everyday technology problems, antivirus, vulnerability monitoring, risk management, and incident response. Two tiers exist, one for companies of roughly one to fifty employees with fully online quotation and purchase, and one for firms of fifty to a thousand employees.

The larger tier reduces underwriting to three questions and adds ongoing vulnerability monitoring, so cover can be issued without a lengthy security questionnaire. In 2024 the company raised 1.5 million dollars from Invisto and Bossa Invest along with strategic investors from the insurance market, funding a business-to-business digital sales push and a stated target of ten thousand subscribers. Its model pairs the insurance product with preventive tooling rather than selling financial cover alone.
