Certified Data Erasure and Device Diagnostics Across the IT Asset Lifecycle

Blancco Technology Group sells certified, software-based data sanitization used to permanently remove information from storage media without physically destroying the hardware. Its customers are enterprise IT and data center teams, IT asset disposition vendors, recyclers, mobile network operators, insurers and retailers running trade-in or buy-back programs. The company traces its origins to Finland in the late 1990s, and its own materials describe roughly 29 years of operation, more than 350 employees and offices across some 20 countries.

The product line is organized by where the data actually lives. Drive Eraser handles servers, laptops and loose drives; LUN Eraser targets logical units inside live storage arrays without taking the operating system down; File Eraser removes individual files, folders and free space; separate tools cover virtual machines, removable media and Apple systems built on T2, M1 and M2 silicon. Each run produces an audit-ready erasure report, and Drive Verifier independently confirms that the media is clean.

Positioning rests on certification breadth rather than novelty: the vendor claims support for more than 25 erasure standards, including NIST and IEEE guidance, plus approvals and recommendations from a dozen-plus government and industry bodies such as Common Criteria, BSI, ANSSI and TUV SUD. A Management Portal centralizes reporting, licensing and diagnostics across sites, while more than 60 automated mobile diagnostic tests extend the same reporting into trade-in and insurance workflows. Sanitization is framed as circular-economy infrastructure, since erased hardware can be resold rather than shredded.
