Cytex, founded in 2022 by Andrew Surwilo (CEO) and Taimur Aslam (CTO), is a US-based cybersecurity startup with origins in research at MIT that has expanded into AI-powered governance and security for large language model (LLM) environments. The company holds contracts with the Department of War and private companies across the United States.

The company launched its flagship product, AICenturion, in March 2025 to serve as the industry’s first LLM firewall with integrated DLP, enabling enterprises to discover all AI model usage, redact or block sensitive PII/PHI/CUI, enforce role-based policies, manage model supply chain vulnerabilities, and monitor agent deployments in real time.
