Blacksands is a network security company selling Software Defined Connectivity, a software defined perimeter product that replaces standing network access with identity-bound point-to-point connections. Connections are dynamically encrypted point to point and authenticated with certificate-based mutual TLS, built on a patented Separation of Powers architecture that splits authorisation from the data path to support zero trust operation. No client software or endpoint modification is required. The distinguishing property is Edge Invisibility: receivers are undetectable to unauthorised entities and unidentifiable during network scans, appearing disconnected while legitimate users keep access, which removes the reconnaissance step attackers rely on before escalating.
An administration console manages users, endpoints, and connections with distributed role-based access, so different stakeholders can hold their own slice of administration. A near real-time audit trail records who is connected, what endpoints they reached, where the connection originated, and when it occurred, across both network and application layers. The product also supports two-factor authentication, remote desktop, and SSH access, giving remote and third-party access paths the same treatment as internal ones.
