
Quantum-Entropy Encryption and Verifiable Data Destruction for Archives
Bita Quantum AI is a quantum security company founded in 2021 and based in Montreal. It addresses two related problems for organizations with very long data retention obligations: keeping archives confidential for decades against adversaries who harvest encrypted data now and plan to decrypt it once quantum computers mature, and proving that data has actually been destroyed. The company draws randomness from physical quantum hardware rather than algorithmic pseudo-random generators, and uses it as the basis for information-theoretic protection: security that does not rest on an assumption about how hard a mathematical problem is to solve. Q-Vault applies this to long-term storage, combining quantum-generated entropy with post-quantum cryptographic design. Q-Trash applies it to deletion, overwriting data with quantum entropy and issuing a cryptographically verifiable certificate that the data is irreversibly destroyed.
An enterprise platform exposes both capabilities across the data lifecycle through APIs and SDKs, with HSM integration, audit trails, and a policy engine for regulated environments. The company aligns its products with CNSA 2.0 and ETSI secure-deletion standards. The destruction side is the less common half of the offering: proof-of-deletion certificates that can support GDPR and CCPA right-to-be-forgotten requests, subject access request compliance, and evidence handling under legal hold.
